Making Some Cash

***I had some internet issues last night which is why you’re seeing this now. I ended up posting it straight from blogger at work. Man, I'm rusty with doing that! I apologize it this post looks less than stellar!!***

Happy Tuesday, friends! Today dawned bleak, wet and cool again. I sure am happy I had great weather last week! It’s so much easier to get out of bed to the sun, no? I was super productive after watching DWTS last night and got all our lunches ready to go so I was able to lounge in bed a wee bit longer this morning. -1 cup water
-2/3 cup Quaker oats
-cinnamon
-mashed banana
-granola
-kefir This breakie was almost the same as yesterday. The banana was the difference. I’m just really enjoying the granola I bought at the market last week!

My before the gym snack was a new bar today that Jessica sent to me as part of a great b-day package. I’ve seen these around and have always been curious as to how they are. First off, it looks kinda funny: So, this was a really dense bar that somehow managed to taste a bit bitter and healthy all at the same time. It’s definitely not something that you can eat in a rush, but did a really good job of keeping me full for 3+ hours. The verdict? I didn’t love or hate it. It’s not a bar that I would buy on a regular basis, but would think of it in a situation where I know I’ll need something with good staying power. Has anyone else tried a Greens + Express Bar?

It was super awesome to get back into the gym today. I spent 30 minutes on the elliptical and 20 on weights.

By 2:30 I still wasn’t hungry for lunch but I knew I had to eat something or I’d end up starving, thus overeating, at dinner. Lunch was pretty simple anyways: Leftover brown rice, steamed veggies and about a ¼ cup of salsa mixed in.

We had a busy evening so dinner was a quick, but good one. I toasted an Ezekiel Muffin and topped it with a LC cheese wedge, ¼ cup Egg Beaters and 2 slices of turkey bacon: Nom, nom! I also had a chocolate biscotti for the road:
DD and I hit our Pilate’s class soon after and then it was off to a 6:20pm puck drop for DS’s hockey game. I had to miss my second Pilate’s class and the boys lost so that was all a bit of a bummer, but whatcha gonna do?? They play again tomorrow night so keep your fingers crossed!
After the game we made our way to a cousin’s place for a gold exchange party. I walked in with 3 old rings, a bracelet and very little hope and walked out $230 richer! Hell ya!!! That made my day. And ramped up my appetite because when I got home at 9 I was starving! I made a big bowl of mixed fruit (an orange, strawberries, blueberries, raspberries & pineapple) and topped it all off with an Archers Farm vanilla yogurt.
Heaven! Here’s a shot of the yogurt. It was really thick and creamy….just how I like my yogurt to be.
Well, that's all I've got for tonight! Oh, I lied! One more thing. Go on over to visit Coco for a great tea giveaway!! See ya back for hump day...
Bye for now!!

  1. Hate technology issues- glad you were able to get the post up :) Looks like a day of great eats and a wonderful workout. Especially that lunch mix- salsa adds something wonderful to rice, doesn't it? And the fruit/yogurt bowl for dessert looks awesome. I want to recreate something like this later today. Have a good one

  2. The yogurt and fruit looks delish! Thanks for posting an honest review of that bar, I was curious! Glad it wasn't terrible! It's great to try new bars, or hear about others, that I way I know if I should buy them or not - and I will not. ;)

  5. Hmm I guess I should give that brand another try--the first time I had it, it was not thick/creamy, more like stiff jello.
