Second Place

So, how’s everybody today? The weather was gorgeous out again here which is always a treat. Now let’s just hope that the internet and I are friends again tonight! Posting from blogger felt really strange because I haven’t done it in a bout a year. While WLW is my saviour where blogging is concerned, I have to admit that I like the way my pictures post from the blogger website better. Moving on….. IMG_0947
-3/4 cup coconut milk
-1/2 cup Alpen cereal IMG_0946
This was warmed up in the microwave for 1min30sec. Have I mentioned how much I’m digging this cereal??? LOL!

Work trickled along OK, I guess. I spent the morning in a staff meeting where we brainstormed a department “mission statement”. It’s amazing what a group of people can come up with given a half hour! Just a little background; I work in the payroll department (which falls under the HR umbrella) of a school board. That being said, here’s what we came up with:

“H”elpful “R”eliable “C”ommunication “A”chieves “R”espected “E”nriched “S”chool Communities
HR CARES

You like???

My morning snack was another new bar. IMG_0948
This is one I bought in Buffalo last Wednesday. When I busted the package open my first thought was; “this smells like a Cadbury mini egg!” Then I saw that it was green and I got a little scared! IMG_0951
It was delicious, though. I mean, really delicious! And as someone who loves to read anything, I appreciated all the little tidbits on the packaging! IMG_0949

I rocked it out at the gym again today. I hopped on the elliptical for 30mins again but upped the resistance some from what I usually do. Then I did 20 minutes of weights.

Time: 50 minutes
Avg Hr: 155
Max Hr: 178
Calories Torched: 475
Distance: 3.2 miles

I enjoyed my lunch much later in the afternoon again today. Seeing as (this week) I’m in the gym from 12:30 -1:30, I haven’t been getting hungry until at least 2:30. Mind you, I’ve eaten some pretty dense bars pre gym this week so I suppose I should factor that in, right?! Alas, I’m straying. Lunch was a serving of quinoa stew from my freezer: IMG_0952
We had to leave for an out of town hockey game right after work so Subway was dinner. That’s OK by me! I had my usual 6” WW veggie with Swiss, lettuce, tomato, green pepper, cucumber, hot peppers, black olives and sweet onion sauce: IMG_0954
The boys lost again tonight which means the series is over and they placed 2nd. We were SO very proud of all of them! h2
Here’s DS getting his medal and a close up of the medal: Noah IMG_0964
On the drive home I ate a baggie of sweet grapes. IMG_0953

And I just polished off an unpictured dark chocolate blueberry banana muffin. I plan on spending a bit of down time in front of the TV, but will be hitting the sack soon enough. Tomorrow is free….actually, we’re free until Monday! Now that hockey is done I’m not sure what I’ll do with my time! LOL!

Bye for now!!

  1. The quinoa stew looks amazing! & I love the idea of making bunches and storing leftovers in the freezer, (I guess I assumed that's what you did... haha) ah - to have a day where all I need is a warm pot to create a wholesome dinner.

I love your blog! Thanks for the inspiration!

  6. I know it must be great and make you so proud that you can have your kids involved in so many sports, but it must feel good when theres a break! You're so busy!

The stew looks really good, and I'd be a bit freaked out by a green bar too.
    Subway rocks.

  7. I hate not being able to use WLW--it's SO much more time consuming to post through the blogger website. Aww cute pic of DS--you all should be very proud--he seems like a hard little worker on the rink!
