A Little Self Indulgence

Hi everybody! Did you all have a good day? Mine was pretty decent. I started it right with my oats again! IMG_1185

  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup Quaker oats
  • cinnamon
  • raisins
  • pecan pieces
  • cappuccino flavoured agave
  • kefir

You know how every now and again you make a bowl of oats that just taste better than usual for some reason? This was my bowl this morning. It just had that consistency that makes me savour every bite.

It was a busy day at work which always makes time fly. Before I knew it, it was time for a snack! IMG_1186

I was delighted to find a seasonal Clif in my stash! I was rummaging around the basket yesterday before DS had to go to hockey because he really likes to eat either a Luna or Clif bar before he goes on the ice so I share. But only certain flavours! HA! That usually means if I can’t get it in Canada, he doesn’t get to eat it. Is that being greedy, you think???

My legs are still stiff from Pilates on Monday and the elliptical was in use so I walked on the treadmill at 4mph with a 7.5% incline.

  • Time: 45 minutes
  • Avg Hr: 155
  • Max Hr: 172
  • Calories Torched: 388
  • Distance: 2.7 miles

Before I even got on the treadmill I indulged in a mini photo shoot. I bought some new pants and a top on Sunday and I was feeling rather good in the outfit so I snapped a few. If I may… IMG_1194 IMG_1188 IMG_1193

Dorky, but I did feel gooood!!! :) Please try to ignore all the gym crap behind me. The change room isn’t exactly big.

Lunch was tasty today…and not leftovers, either! I brought 1 cup of LF cottage cheese and topped it off with thawed strawberries: IMG_1196

Later on in the afternoon I had the last of my fruit salad: IMG_1199

Dinner tonight was homemade burgers. Lets see if I can remember all that I put in them….1lb lean ground beef, 1/2 cup oats, 2 egg whites, fish sauce, hoisin sauce, Worcestershire sauce, dried oregano, basil, minced garlic, half an onion chopped. I think that’s it. I guess you could say they were Asian inspired! Here’s mine with all the fixings: IMG_1201

I also made a small tomato salad with the rainbow tomatoes I bought over the weekend, some white balsamic vinegar, olive oil, salt & pepper: IMG_1202

One happy family; IMG_1200

SUCH a great meal…and it just screams summer to me. While my hubby was grilling the burgers I made another batch of Erica’s Fruit & Nut Granola Bars. The batch I made on Saturday disappeared faster then if they’d been at a magic show! After they cooled slightly, I chowed down! IMG_1203

Yum-a, yum-a!!!

I’m off to go soak up the last rays of sun for the day. It’s suppose to rain tomorrow. Boo! Guess it is needed, though. Enjoy what’s left of the day!

Bye for now!!

  10. Haha about only sharing with your son the bars you can get by you. I don't blame ya -- makes no difference to him! ;) Not exactly sure which flavors are not available in Canada but hopefully you'll be pleasantly surprised with your box that I hope to mail today or tomorrow.
