You Get Me Twice

Don’t you feel lucky now?? Sorry I went MIA last night. By the time we got home from hockey I looked like this in human form; 100_6556

LOL! I’m going to do this post backwards cuz that’s how it’s all making sense to me right now at 7:30am, Sunday morning!

The boys put up a good fight against a tough team last night, but still lost 6-0. :( Some friends of ours that live in the city we played in came to watch which was super awesome! DS really loves it when people (other than us) come to see his games. :) I was tickled pink to when I realized that Whole Foods was spitting distance from the rink! I promptly dropped the boys off and DD and I went to do some shopping! I whizzed through quicker so as not to be late for the game, but still managed to grab what I really wanted to get there; 100_6569

KABOCHA!! And a delicita squash. SCORE! For some reason I haven’t been able to find any kabocha at the stores in my city. I also bought some unpictured, rather expensive, honey crisp apples. But they are SO worth it! I also bought one of my favourite brands of chocolate bars; 100_6570

Honestly, this company makes the best chocolate, hands down. This will be my first go with the Maya Gold, but I’m sure I will LOVE it.

We stopped at Subway for dinner, but I have no picture because it was dark out and all the ones I took were terrible. I did have a 6” roasted chicken breast with lettuce, tomato, cucumbers, green peppers, black & green olives and sweet onion sauce. T’was delish!

The afternoon was spent pretty low key. My veggie plants were pretty much done so I pulled them out as well as some annuals from the flower pots.

Lunch featured my BSI recipe! I made Almond Carrot Cake Bread Pudding and it turned out fabulous! 100_6566

  • 2 slices of WW bread
  • 2 tbsp raisins
  • 1/3 cup shredded carrots
  • 1/4 cup milk (I used Almond Breeze)
  • 1 egg (or a 1/4 cup Egg beaters)
  • 2 tbsp crunchy almond butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  1. tear bread into bite size pieces, mix in raisins and carrots and set aside
  2. in a bowl, mix next 5 ingredients until well combined (I used a whisk)
  3. Pour egg mixture over bread and stir until all the bread has been saturated
  4. Turn into an oven safe dish
  5. preheat oven to 350* and let pudding sit while you wait for the oven
  6. bake for 30-35 minutes, let cool slightly and enjoy!

Head over to Allie’s blog to catch the contest!

I has packed an orange and apple for our morning excursion. I only ended up eating the orange, though! 100_6568

The apple is back in the fridge!

We spent the morning standing outside a grocery store with another set of parents as the boys were taking their turn at the Tag Day fund raiser. They ended up collecting $215. There was a set of boys out Friday night, and 2 sets of 2 boys at 2 grocery stores yesterday. There is one more set to go this morning. So far they have collected $1400 for the team budget! Here’s the boys in action! 100_6561 100_6564

LOL! They had a good time! By the time we were done they were calling each other “brothers”! Too cute.

Before we left I had some heavy duty breakie; 100_6560

  • 1 cup coffee
  • 1/4 cup Windy Hill Farms cremo cereal
  • chocolate honey
  • walnut pieces
  • USAB

And that, my friends, was my Saturday in reverse. I’ll be back later tonight with a Sunday recap which will include Thanksgiving dinner at Mom’s!

Bye for now!!
