Present Time!

What a GREAT 2 days it has been! The weather has been glorious, DD had a wonderful birthday, DS was happy to be back out on the soccer field (soccer is fave thing to do in the summer…hockey in the winter), I’ve enjoyed some tasty food. Life is good!

I fell a little short on time yesterday morning so I sat down to a bowl of Wildroots cereal with USVAB: IMG_1655
Work has been smoking busy this week so time has gone by pretty fast. Before getting to the gym I snacked on a date & walnut Kind bar.IMG_1656
This was good, but sweet. I was glad it wasn’t any bigger because it would’ve been a little too much.

I fit a power walk in at the gym. The temp was way up yesterday and today. Like, 76*F. I bumped it down to 67, but it took awhile to get there. Thankfully there’s a fan so I turned it on high and pointed it in my direction.

Distance: 3 miles

I had a delicious sandwich for lunch! I topped 2 pieces of whole grain bread with a slice of provolone cheese, 2 slices of Mediterranean roasted deli chicken breast, mayo and lots of lettuce:IMG_1657
This was the perfect size and was dense enough to keep me full. So much so that I didn’t eat my usual 3pm snack!

I promised DD that she could open her present(s) when I got home for work so that’s what we did. (A little background on her gift….when we were in Toronto a few weeks ago, we stopped by Lululemon and I had her try on anything she liked. We made a “wish list” from that so I was able to go online to buy a few pieces that were the proper size and that I knew she would like.) I ended up going with a lighter jacket (Flashback jacket), a pair of Wunder Groove crops, boogie shorts (for dance), a water bottle and 2 headbands. Here are just a couple pics of her opening everything: IMG_1662 IMG_1663 IMG_1667
She knew she was getting Lulu, but not what so she was thrilled with her haul. We also gave her a $20 g/c for Walmart so she can pick out a bathing suit for herself as she’s wanted one and I don’t trust myself to pick one she’ll love.

Dinner was turkey sausage done on the BBQ in a PC hotdog thin and a quick salad I made up with a can of corn (rinsed) and can of black beans (also rinsed) ½ a chopped onion, 1 orange bell pepper, white balsamic vinegar and S&P.IMG_1671
The sausage looks a bit messy because the bugger rolled out on me before I could snap the picture! And for being so simple, the salad was terrific. I only wish I had some vibrant green herbs on hand like parsley or cilantro. That would’ve been the icing on the cake. I also put back another mini Toblerone bar! IMG_1672

After dinner we made our way to the soccer field. It was just an assessment last night so the coaches could get a feel for the skill level of the boys in order to split them fairly into 6 teams. It was hot (not complaining!) and DS ran his booty off the whole hour. You could just see that he was in his element. I took a picture of his sweaty red face as we were leaving:IMG_1702
LOL!! My hubby and I had planned a pit stop for ice cream on the way home for DD’s b-day and it was the perfect treat! We just went to McDonalds…cheaper that way…where I got a strawberry sundae.IMG_1703
This was just the right size to cool me off without filling my belly too much. Ah….summer!!!

Breakfast this morning was “chock” full of blueberries:IMG_1705

  • 2/3 cup water
  • 1/3 cup Quaker oats
  • cinnamon
  • blueberries
  • Dorset cereal

Morning snack was a pecan pie Lara Bar: IMG_1706

Here’s the stats from today’s walk.

  • Time: 45 minutes
  • Avg Hr: 156
  • Max Hr: 173
  • Calories Torched: 432
  • Distance: 3 miles

My ankles were a little angry after this so I think I better stay mindful of that and not do anything incline related (yesterday and today were both at 7%) 2 days in a row.

I had a big bowl of corn & bean salad for lunch today. IMG_1707

I have a feeling my fam will be staying far away from me before long! ***wink*** I also ate some crisp grapes. IMG_1708

It’s suppose to rain a little later on so when I got home from work the first thing I did was transplant some potted plants into bigger pots. I plan to get the rest of the planting done this weekend. Dinner was relaxed tonight. We don’t generally feel like cooking by the time Friday rolls around. The fam had a Delissio pizza and I sautéed some spinach and orange pepper in garlic olive oil, topped it with 2 sunny side up eggs and brought up the side with some toasted whole grain bread, IMG_1709

How pretty does that look??? My sweet end was a lonely, forgotten Skinny Cow caramel & Vanilla bar that I found in the depths of the chest freezer. IMG_1710

It looks sad, but still tasted yummy. HA! We’re off now to take KC for a walk before the rain hits. I hope you all have a FABULOUS weekend!!!

Bye for now!!
