Eating Raw with Erin

I had the most fantastic sleep last night! WOW, was I refreshed this morning. I crashed shortly after 10:30 last night. That’s the earliest I’ve been asleep since my vacation started. Guess I needed it.

In an effort to use up the many cereal boxes I have in my pantry, I ate a big bowl of the stuff for breakfast today; 100_5529

  • 1 cup Nature’s Path Optimum Slim
  • handful of Nature’s path pumpkin flax granola
  • 1 cup USVAB

Very tasty indeed, but I was blog reading as I was eating so the last little bit was on the gaggy soggy side. Oh, well…it didn’t kill me!

It was overcast and cool this morning so I took the opportunity to run some errands and browse the internet. Before I knew it, lunch time had arrived! I went with another glorious parfait! 100_5532

  • container Fage
  • raspberry jam
  • strawberries
  • blueberries
  • dorset cereal

I chased it with a Kashi mocha almond bar! 100_5533

The sun finally came out hot and strong after lunch so I crashed out on the deck with the new Prevention magazine to catch some rays. That and I had to rest up for tonight’s adventures!! Before hopping in the shower, DS and I took the neighbour puppy, K.C. for a walk around the block. He’s the best kind of dog cuz we get to love him then bring him home!

Finally it was time to pick up my sister and hit the road to meet ERIN (Care to Eat) for dinner!!! I gotta tell you, I was so psyched to have the opportunity to meet Erin. I just love her blog and she is just as super cool in the flesh! We decided to go to Live Food Bar for dinner. This is a fabulous raw food restaurant that I was pretty excited to try…and I (we) was NOT disappointed! What a great , great place! They had quite the variety on the menu so it took us a bit to choose what we wanted, but it was worth the few minutes. I knew I didn’t want to go heavy on anything with a lot of nuts because I wasn’t sure how my belly would react. To start I ordered up some Polenta fries with chipotle dipping sauce…100_5535

To. Die. For. My sister (Lisa) and I have never tasted polenta so good….and we grew up on the stuff! The girls ordered pecan tempura rolls which were equally as fabulous! 100_5536

The main entrees went like this:

Krista-Sunshine Wrap
This garden-fresh wrap is made from sprouted flax seeds and veggies then filled with a sunflower seed hummus, cucumbers, kale, tomatoes, red onions, avocado, and sprouts

Erin-Rainbow Kale and Walnut
This hearty salad filled with kale, beets, carrots, mixed seeds, walnuts, and sundried tomatoes is tossed in a creamy tahini dressing 100_5541

Lisa-Pizza M’On
A personal buckwheat pizza topped with a pumpkin curry “cheese”, red peppers,
“onion rings”, fresh mango, and a coriander chlorella pesto. Super food Moon

Action shot!

You know there was dessert involved, right?!

Erin-chocolate chip cookie & key lime pie (which was heavenly!) 100_5545

Lisa-walnut brownie; 100_5546

I left feeling completely satisfied and not too full at all. I had a really good time! Here’s Erin and me! 100_5547

So, I’m off to dreamland now as we’re heading 3 hours in the opposite direction of T.O. tomorrow…..Windsor! We’ll be visiting my bestie until Sunday evening so blogging will be sporadic at best. Going to her place is the high light of our summer vacation each year. It’s always a blast! Saturday she’s taking me to her gym for a boot camp class and once we get home and pretty, we’ll be heading into Michigan for some shopping time! A lot of time will be spent by her pool and the campfire at night. I can’t wait!

Bye for now!!
