Howdy! I took lots of pictures yesterday, so I’ll just get to it, K? Yesterday morning was a gloriously lazy one. As in I didn’t even get out of my PJ’s until 1pm! I enjoyed my breakfast at a leisurely pace:
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup rye flakes
- raisins
- cinnamon
- granola
- kefir
I attempted to catch up with blog reading over the course of the morning. I actually made a decent sized dent. Before long it was time to eat some lunch. I wanted to keep it light because I knew we were having a big dinner. I ate more salad with the last of my honey mustard dressing from Manon.
I also had a chocolate chip All Bran bar:
We were all prettied up and ready to hit the church on time. I managed a few shots before the service;
The kids all did a great job singing the songs they learned and behaving like ladies and gentlemen. DD was able to get some shots of the group. Here’s one of them.
The mass was done in enough time for all our family to head over to the restaurant for dinner. I had a set menu per se so everybody started off with a salad. Check out the neat presentation!
That “shell” was spectacular! Light, crisp and just a touch of salt. The choices for the main entree were baseball sirloin or half a Cajun style chicken (both served with roasted potatoes and veggies) or seafood fettuccini. I went with the chicken for my meal. Along with the potatoes and veg, it was served with some delicious jalapeno corn bread.
So delicious!!! Dessert for everybody was a cake that I brought from the bakery. I forgot to take a photo of the cake before it was cut, but here is my piece…
Everyone enjoyed their meals and it was fun to catch up with everyone. Here are a few pictures from the restaurant:

DS with his piece of cake.
We got home from the restaurant shortly after 7pm and practically dove into our PJ’s. BLISS!!! I watched the Amazing Race (GO cowboys!!) and some other random TV before hitting the sack.
And here we are at Monday again. Is it just me or are the weeks really flying by??? Here’s today’s bowl of oats.
- 2/3 cup water
- 1/3 cup Quaker oats
- cinnamon
- raisins
- carob chips, pecan pieces and kefir
Work was extremely busy today because I had Friday off to go to Toronto. Days off are always something that we pay for, eh? Sheesh! I’m on 11:30 lunch today so that came around real quick. I munched on an oatmeal raisin walnut Clif bar, courtesy of Sara:
At the gym I completed an intense incline walk. (4mph, 7% incline)
- Time: 45 minutes
- Avg Hr: 168
- Max Hr: 183
- Calories Torched: 495
- Distance: 3 miles
I was SO sweaty after this walk. The treadmill I was on seems to be calibrated differently than the other because this same walk seems much harder on the one I was using.
I enjoyed a favourite for lunch today…goat’s milk yogurt!! I had about 1 cup with a tbsp of honey stirred in. Fresh strawberries and granola topped it off.
I never got around to an afternoon snack. Probably because I sipped on this huge iced coffee throughout the afternoon!!
Mmmmmm…
I whipped up some pasta for the fam tonight using some sauce that I had pulled out of the freezer this morning. I dug into my leftovers from dinner last night. What? You didn’t think I polished off that huge plate, did you? LOL!!
I also sautéed some red peppers, onion and kale which is what you see in the bottom right corner. Great meal. And to finish it off I had another piece of cake.
Thankfully, only 4 pieces came home with us so that is now a cake of the past!! I don’t really have any plans for the rest of the night which is pretty swell as far as I’m concerned. While this is publishing I’m gonna make a sugar cookie tea to sip on as I enjoy my night of nothingness….
Bye for now!!
