An Easy Going Day

Hey, all! Today has definitely been more low key than the rest of the week! PHEW. I was a wee bit sassy last night so the break came just in the nick of time. I started the day out with some microwave oats as I was feeling lazy and didn’t want to dirty a pot. 100_7955
-1/2 cup Rice Dream “eggnog”
-1/2 cup water
-1/2 cup Quaker oats
-raisins
-walnuts 100_7954
Simple, yet delicious!

I dilly dallied a bit at work today. It was just one of those things where there comes a moment when you've made up your mind that you just aren't doing anything productive for the rest of the day. Talk about being a slacker! Don’t worry….I did get all the essentials done! I’m sure my bad ass (work) attitude stems from me excitement over DS’s hockey tournament this weekend! (If you check out the link scroll down the list of teams and click on Guelph Jr. Storm. It’ll bring up a fun team photo!) Although the host city is not too far from us, the boys will be playing 5 games in 3 days so we’ll be staying for the weekend. I’ve already checked out the hotel site and there is a 24hr gym, pool and internet. That means I can post while there! YAY! Now if I could only get a video to load without giving me an error I could give you some “live” action, too! AND, there’s a great mall less than a mile away. *sigh* But…enough of my blabbing here!

No gym time today as it was yoga day. This was a good thing because I needed to go downtown to pick up my hubby’s birthday present. His b-day isn’t until Tuesday, but I bought him a way cool Storm (DS’s and our city’s hockey team name) jacket and I’m certain that he’ll wanna wear it this weekend. I also had to stop at the drug store buy some travel size items like toothpaste and the such as our supply has gotten low.

For my lunch today I combined the last bit of my rice/marinara mix with the meat from the last chicken thigh, mixed in some hot sauce and called it a day. 100_7959
This was actually pretty decent. Because the thigh was cold from the fridge this morning, I was able to remove all the “stuff” I deem gross. Here are the snacks I ate today. The star are dark chocolate… 100_7957 100_7956

Let’s see….not much happened between lunch and dinner so I’ll just get to my supper. DD had skating lessons tonight at 5:30 so we ate early again. The fam had homemade soup with tortellini and chicken fingers. I used up the last bit of cooked quinoa to make a of sorts. I cooked a red pepper and some mushrooms in basil infused olive oil then added the quinoa. I topped it with some cilantro and goat’s milk cheese; 100_7961

I’m gonna have to cut this short because I still have some packing to do and food to organize for our weekend. The hotel room has a mini fridge and microwave so I’m bringing some eats along. This will save us having to spend mucho dinero at restaurants. I know there will be one team dinner out so it will also be convenient for any leftovers we may have. Snacks are also a must because DS is a food fiend after a game. Like I mentioned, I’m hoping to be able to blog and comment all weekend but in the event that this isn’t the case, I’ll catch up with you all come Monday! I’ll leave you with a new gum that I bought and tried today. I think it’s my new fave!! 100_7963

Bye for now!!
