Mystery Butter

I love it when Monday’s are really Tuesday’s! What a good feeling to realize that it’s a short work week….even if it means a busier one. Top that off with a fabulous breakfast and happiness ensues. :D IMG_0353
-1 cup water
-1/2 cup Quaker oats
-cinnamon
-splash of kefir
-thawed & heated peaches and blueberries IMG_0352
Holy crap, was this ever amazing!!! And it looked so pretty that I almost didn’t mix it up. I’ll say it again….peach & blueberry is my favourite fruit combo. What’s yours???

This breakfast also kept me VERY full all morning. I started getting a wee bit grumbly in the belly area just before noon. I don’t like working out on an empty stomach, but I didn’t feel hungry enough for the Luna bar that I brought either. I decided to eat a packet of almonds instead. IMG_0354
Those nuts did a great job of satisfying me. I didn’t even think about lunch until 2pm!!

I had a fast, sweaty ride on the elliptical while watching Rachael Ray today. I hit the machine hard and kept a good pace the whole way through.

I had brought some quinoa stew for lunch today but seeing as I didn’t get hungry until later, I opted against eating it. It would have been too much food to close to when I had to eat dinner. Instead, I dug into my lemon zest Luna Bar: IMG_0355
Now, I’m not a huge lemon lover, but this bar was excellent! I felt like I was eating something really naughty. LOL! I’m glad I tried this flavour. It sure did not disappoint. Of course this wasn’t enough of a lunch. I also ate most of this bag of snap peas! IMG_0356
I didn’t realize until afterwards that these came all the way from China! Whoops! Next time I buy them I’ll have to make sure they’re from closer to home.

I also snacked on home honeydew melon cubes: IMG_0357
They weren’t very tasty at all so about half went in the trash. BOO!!

Dinner was on the early side tonight because DD and I had to leave at 5:30 for Pilate’s. I pulled the George Foreman out for a third night in a row and did up some chicken breasts. Along with that I had a wee bit of peaches & cream corn and some quinoa mixed with salsa.

I couldn’t finish part of my chicken breast so my hubby helped me out. :D Dessert was a thin slice of chocolate banana cake: IMG_0359
This stuff is SO good!!!

After Pilate’s I went to the health food store to browse a bit and came home with this nut butter: IMG_0361
Peanut hazelnut. And see how it says “mystery butter”? LOL! Not sure what’s up with that, but it was on sale for $3.19 so it came home with me! I also bought some beautiful golden beets and a peeled & cored pineapple.

I just made a Teaopia (Teavana) cleansing tea and warmed up a vegan pumpkin muffin on top of which I spread some of my new nut butter: IMG_0362

This combo is very good and is hitting the spot as I type this out! SO, no Biggest Loser tonight. My hubby is downstairs watching Canada play hockey and I’m planning on chilling with a magazine for an hour and then it’s bed time for me! I’ll leave you with a photo I found on my camera when I downloaded the pictures tonight:

Bye for now!!
