Banana Bread & A New Camera!

I took advantage of a quiet house this morning while everyone was at hockey to get the housework done. It's always nice to have that out of the way! Before I got started I ate a bowl of Bob's Red Mill 10 Grain cereal.

-1 cup water
-1/3 cup 10 Grain cereal
-1/2 cup frozen raspberries
-1 Tbsp apricot preserves
-cinnamon

This cereal was good and very filling! I was pretty stuffed by the last bite.

I also got busy baking this morning. I made Jenna's (Eat, Live, Run) banana bread recipe. The only thing I did differently was to add 2 Tbsp of peanut butter chips to the top of the loaf before it went into the oven.

Thanks Jenna!

I gotta tell ya...by 9pm last night I was SO hungry!! Must've been the busy day I had. I started out with about a cup of mixed dry cereal (Kashi Honey Sunshine, All Bran Guardian and Kashi Digestive Wellness). About an hour later I ate a package of Nature's Path oatmeal.

I don't normally eat packaged oatmeal because I find it doesn't fill me up but I
always keep some on hand "just in case".

By the time lunch rolled around I was beat out. I put together a real lazy lunch. Sorry to be so uninspiring!

The last of my big container Of Fage (about a 1/3 cup) with a drizzle of honey and a Tbsp of Sahale walnut mix and a piece of banana bread...

and an apple.

We went to pick a few things up at Costco and I bought 2 new cereals to try.

I broke into the Kashi one already and it rocks! The good thing is that both my kids will enjoy these as well! From Costco we drove over to Best Buy where I finally bought my new CAMERA! I plan on reading the instruction booklet thoroughly tonight so I understand exactly what I need to do to take amazing pictures! I can't wait to try it out! And it's my favorite color...purple!

Dinner was a bit of a let down. I had put the ingredients for a soup in the crockpot this morning for a recipe that I wanted to try and it Bombed (with a capital B!). The rice pretty much melted and I was left with a thick ...mass...is the only word I can think of. It tasted OK, but looked really unappetizing. I ended up eating a scoop of it (yes, it was suppose to be soup) with the last chili mango turkey sausage.

For my sweet end I ate a pecan tart. And I'm totally blaming my bummer of a dinner for the fact that after my tart I went back and ate a sliver of pumpkin pie (no photo as I didn't really plan on eating it!)

The tart and pie were both delish although I realize that i didn't need both!

Well, I'm off to study "camera 101". I hope to have some beautiful pictures for tomorrow's post!!

Bye for now

  6. Hi, Juliet!
The Weil oatmeal is pretty good! As with any instant oat packs, though, I find them way too small portion-wise. Good for a snack but definitely not enough for breakfast...
