Made in Canada & Please Come to Canada

Hey all! Have you been enjoying a wonderful day? Mine’s been good! A tasty breakfast always helps things along. IMG_0968

  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup Old Wessex 5 Grain Oats
  • cinnamon
  • blueberries (with melted apple cinnamon honey)
  • kefir IMG_0967

No meeting to help move the morning along today, but it ended up doing pretty well on its own. I tried another (new to me)bar before the gym today: IMG_0970

This was awesome!! WOW! I didn’t see any banana listed in the ingredients, but it tasted like a chocolate banana treat to me! IMG_0974

And I liked to see this on the packaging, too: IMG_0973

BAM! I’ll be buying this gem again for sure. Thanks Jessica!

I huffed through a nice fast paced incline walk at the gym today. My speed was 4mph and the incline was at 7%.

Lunch came in 3 parts today. I started out with a strawberry Chobani topped with granola. IMG_0975 IMG_0976

About an hour later I ate some almonds; IMG_0977

And another hour later came a great tasting apple. IMG_0978

I wish I knew what type of apple this was because I really liked it. Usually the little sticker will say, but this one didn’t…of course! HA!

The fam had taco pasta tonight so I pulled out a Kashi Harvest Bake that I bought at Wegman’s. IMG_0979

I really wish Kashi would get a move on and start selling more products….like this one….in Canada! I love this meal!!! I would typically bulk this up with steamed vegetables, but I realized while digging into the freezer that we’re all out. After some humming and hawing I decided to toast an Ezekiel English muffin as a side “filler”. IMG_0980

Perfect!!! I just brewed a mug of coffee which will be my sweet end. It’s tiramisu flavoured and mixed with a little agave and USVAB makes it taste awesome.

Anybody up to no good this weekend???

Bye for now!!

  3. Hey Krista! Thanks for the note on my blog.

I make my oats with: 1/3 cup oats, 1/3 cup milk, and 1/3 cup water + 1/2 banana stirred in while cooking - they turn out perfectly every time.

    Have a great weekend!

  4. Mmm I just love the way your blueberries look in your breakfast bowl! So plump and juicy!
And I have never tried that Kashi dish, it looks great! I can't get enough of the Ezekiel english muffins either! They're so much denser and more filling than any other brand.
I don't have any major plans this weekend. I hope you have a great night Krista!!

  6. I love that entree too! For frozen meals though, I have a trick - while it's still completely frozen (straight out of the freezer), I "lift" the entire meal out of the tray it's in (it just pops right out) and put it on a real plate -- microwave and voila; the dish comes out totally neat and restaurant-looking!

  8. It's always nice to see anything that is made in either Canada or the US instead of overseas. Even better when things are made right in your area--yay for local!

  15. Kashi is so slow at bringing their products up here. I actually don't expect to ever see the full range in Canada, mostly due to labelling costs (since they have to redo all their packaging in French & English).

What I'd really like to see is some Canadian companies create some innovative products themselves, so we don't feel the need to get all these things from the States. But our market just isn't as lucrative.

Wow...didn't mean to go on a little rant there. LOL.
