Cranky Pants

I’m afraid I haven’t been in the best of moods today. It was quite windy last night so I didn’t sleep well. That coupled with a few other minor issues have left me with a sour taste in my mouth! So, to spare you all the bad vibes, I’m going to do a food recap and start fresh tomorrow.

Breakfast was a repeat of yesterday with the addition a ½ a banana. I’m really digging the coffee in my oats!

-3/4 cup coffee
-1/4 cup water
-1/2 cup Quaker oats
-1/2 mashed banana
-Enjoy Life granola
-Southern Pecan coffee creamer

We had our department open house at 10am this morning. What a display of food there was! I made sure to stock my plate up with lots of fruit. There are also a few pinwheels, some cheese and crackers and some chocolate covered almonds.

Here are a few shots of the gingerbread squares that I brought. Well, they look more like rectangles!

The gym didn’t go so well today, either. My legs were pretty tired from the last 2 days and I just couldn’t make them run for me! This made me sad because I could’ve really used a good sweat session. Not all was lost, though because I did walk for 40 minutes which equaled about 3 miles and 250ish calories burned.

All the “party” food was left out for the duration of the day so of course there was the inevitable afternoon grazing, especially seeing as I’m an emotional eater! I did steer clear of all the cakes, pastries and muffins, though! What I did eat was a few more crackers with cheese and pinwheels and you just know I had more almonds (and a small brownie)!!! Needless to say, I had zero appetite for my lunch so it went back home with me. Not exactly a great way to fuel myself, but it’s not like I do it everyday. That’s my excuse and I’m sticking to it! :)

One huge plus to my day was the fact that I had supper cooking up in the crock pot so it was ready to go when I was! Love that! I made Mom on the Run’s Korean Crock Pot BBQ.
This wonderful concoction was paired up with some rice and steamed veggies!

How good does that look? Yum! Thanks for a great recipe, Sarah!!!

My hubby took DD skating tonight. While they were gone, DS and I set to work on their Valentine’s for school tomorrow. I ordered cookies from a local high school bakery to put into baggies with some chocolate hearts. Here’s what the cookies look like…

I always enjoy doing these types of things with the kids and they love to bring them to school! I'll take some photo's of the finished product in the morning and post them tomorrow. They weren't looking so hot with the flash...I need daylight!

Tune in tomorrow to see my responses to Marianne’s interview questions! She thought up some really goes ones! AND I received some KICK ASS mail today that you must come back to read about! The package totally made my shitty day a whole lot better!!

Bye for now!!
