WARNING: Long Post Ahead!

I am happy to report that I woke up on the right side of the bed this morning! And the sky was a brilliant blue today! Awesome! I hate being in a funk and I’m just glad it doesn’t happen very much! Today’s post is a great one filled with awesome treats and my interview! Let’s begin with my breakfast!

-3/4 cup water
-3/4 cup unsweetened vanilla Almond Breeze
-3 Tbsp cream of wheat
-cinnamon
-strawberries & blueberries
-sweet mocha hazelnut sprinkles

This was a delicious bowl, but I’m finding that the cream of wheat doesn’t keep me full near as long as oats do. I’ll have to remember to beef it up some with nuts the next time to make up the difference.

On to my FABULOUS mail that was waiting on my doorstep last night. Kari from Nature’s Path offered to send me some samples of their products and I was in awe of everything she sent my way!

Here we have Flax Plus Pumpkin granola and Sunflower Agave Plus granola. I’ve bought the pumpkin before and it rocks! I’ve seen the sunflower agave around blog land lately so I’m stoked to try that one out!

Next is a box of Optimum Slim cereal and Flax Plus Red Berry Crunch cereal;

AND…5 Weil bars!!

Check out those flavours! Chia Razz, Goji Moji, Chocolada Walnut, Pistachi-Oh and Banana Manna. I can’t wait to try these out!

All together now!!

Thank you 100 times over to Kari for the generous sample box!!

I ate the other half of my Maple Nut Clif Bar before the gym today.
I’m sad to say I’m out of medjool dates, but the Clif bar is a MUCH better pre-workout snack!

My legs were still a little tired today so I cut the speed back a wee bit on my run. It’s all about compromise, baby! I’m just glad I got it done!

Lunch today was my last frozen serving of black bean soup with a side of multi grain crackers.
I’ll have to find some time to make another batch because I really dig this stuff! My sweet end was a few of my very favourite chocolate treats…

Wanna know more about me? Read on to see how I answered my interview questions!! :)

1. Describe your perfect meal - who would you dine with, where would it be, what would you eat, and any other details that would make it the ultimate meal experience!
Hmmm….my perfect meal…..I would dine with my hubby on a deck overlooking the ocean in some tropic paradise at sunset. We would be eating a lot of fresh seafood and fish…scallops, shrimp, lobster, salmon, and tuna. I would be drinking a pina coloada out of a coconut. Dinner would end with a smooth, luxurious chocolate concoction. Mmmm…
2. What song would you choose as your theme song? Why?
This may sound off the wall, but my theme song would have to be “Bitch” by Meredith Brooks. Not that I’m a bitch (well, not always, anyways!) but I am pretty much all the things she says in the song “I’m a bitch, I’m a lover, I’m a child, I’m a mother….you get the point. If you want to hear the rest of what I am, click here!
3. Tell me about your favourite family vacation.
My favourite family vacation happens every summer. We travel 3 hours to my best friends place and hang out with her and her husband for 3 days. She lives in a border town so we always go to the States shopping and she has a pool and a fire pit for roasting marshmallows. I miss having her close by and treasure our times together as a big family!
4. Is there any food you find intimidating to make? Why or why not?
I am VERY scared of making bread from scratch. I actually think it’s the yeast that scares the heck out of me. Many a time I’ve thought to make a loaf and then I chicken out. I’m just going to have to do it one day and see what happens!
5. If you could have any job in the world, what job would it be and why?
I have always wanted to be a surgical nurse. The human body and how it looks inside fascinates me. Too bad my math skills were lacking coming out of high school. I’ve looked into taking courses now, but can’t afford to quit my job to get it done. I’ll have to settle for TV!

PHEW! Thanks to Marianne for the great (and tough) questions! Here’s what you need to do if you would like me to interview you!

1. Leave me a comment saying, "Interview me." If a few people want interviews, I will randomly pick 2.
2. I will respond by emailing you five questions. (I get to pick the questions).
3. You will update your blog with the answers to the questions.
4. You will include this explanation and an offer to interview others in the same post.
5. When others comment asking to be interviewed, you will ask them five questions.

Towards the end of my work day, I ate a bowl of mixed fruit….grapes, strawberries and blueberries. Yummy!

Like promised, here is a photo of one of the finished Valentine's that the kids and I did up last night. This one in particular was destined for my son's class....

After work we all pitched in to clean up the house because tomorrow will be too busy to get any of it done. While chores were being done, we popped some store bought pizza's into the oven. I had a PC Blue Menu veggie pizza...

And yes, I ate the whole thing. They're actually quite small....maybe the size of 2 regular slices. This pizza was less than 500 calories. Not pictured is the salad I ate along side. My sweet end was a 2 bite brownie that was camera shy.

Very shortly, we will be off to a hockey game. Great way to end the week! Anybody have special plans this weekend??

Bye for now!!

  11. WOW, love the Nature's Path sample. What a great box of loot!

I love the Maple Nut Clif bar, it's definitely one of my favourites that I've tried so far, and I think I've now tried a good chunk of the ones they sell around here!

I'm afraid of attempting bread making from scratch too... but I LOVE fresh bread. I have to buck up and just do it one of these days.

That Blue Menu pizza looks pretty tasty.. and less than 500 cals for the whole thing isn't too darn bad for pizza. Maybe I'll pick one up one of these days for a pizza night or something. Mmm.
