It Was A Crazy One!

I have to apologize right off the bat if this post comes across as me being “short”. Everything in my world was lovely, but very busy today! I started the day off right with a nice bowl of YUM!
-1 cup water
-1/2 cup Bob’s Red Mill 5 Grain cereal
-blueberries
-cinnamon
-palmful of Enjoy Life Foods Mountain Mambo trail mix
This had some serious chew going on and I love that in a meal!

I tried a GREEN MONSTER last night! Now, I’m not a fan of drinking my food, never have been but I’m trying to curb the after dinner sugar attacks that I’ve been getting and see that Angela has had success by drinking one of these. Here’s what went into my Magic Bullet;
-handful of baby spinach
-4 frozen strawberries
-1/2 cup unsweetened almond breeze
-1 tbsp ground flax seed
-1 tbsp agave

I was afraid to taste it when I saw that it was more brown than green, but I was pleasantly surprised! Interestingly enough, the longer it sat, the greener it got! WEIRD! I actually ate it with a spoon to trick myself into think that I was eating something rather than drinking something. Having a beverage to kill the “kravings” has never worked for me before. I have to admit that the first ½ hour after finishing this, I still wanted to burst in to the kitchen for a snack. I held off and the feeling of needing something else subsided. I’m going to drink one of these every night for 1 week and we’ll see how I feel and if it worked after 7 days!

We’re in the middle of pay week at work again so things were hectic as usual. I noshed on these dried figs through out the morning….
They’re no medjool date, but I quite liked them!

I had a bit of a headache when it was time to go to the gym but I knew a workout would improve the situation….and it did! I did my elliptical/stair climber/bike workout and felt great by the time I was done. I must have sweat out the headache toxins! :)

Lunch was a fast take on a grilled cheese/tomato soup combo. I had about a cup of V8 tomato soup leftover from the other day that I threw a handful of spinach in and a toasted Laughing Cow cheese & spinach sandwich.
Lunch dessert was a bowl of sweet strawberries! I scored a good deal on the berries yesterday…$1.47 per tub. We go through loads of strawberries at my house. It’s the kids favourite fruit.
Then I found some of these...
Who can resist chocolate??? I hope other people make fast work of that bowl!!

Things got very busy once I left work at 4. I had enough time to stop by the house to change and grab snacks for the 3 of us before I picked the kids up and drove across town to DS’s hockey practice. He was on the ice from 4:50-5:50. Once he was out of his gear, we hopped back in the van, drove back across town and hit the pool for his 6:30-7 swimming lesson. Anyone tired yet?? I ate a 1/2 cup of Nature's Path Optimum cereal en route. DS ended up eating the apple.
We arrived home at 7:20 and I heated up some burritos (sh*t in a pack) for the kids. Hey...it was easy and quick! :) I decided that it was too late for a normal supper for me so I warmed up a bowl of apple pie crock pot oats.
I topped them off with coconut, almonds and a splash of French Vanilla International Delight coffee creamer. My sweet end was this Cadbury Mint Chip Thin;
My hubby picked me up 2 boxes at Sam's Club today. They're closing all their Canadian stores and he snagged a few good deals while there. I'll update those tomorrow! I'm off to get the kids to bed and then watch the Biggest Loser. A green monster will be in my near future, as well!

Before I sign off, here’s another great give away! Sarah over at Mom on the Run is giving away Raw Revolution Bars! Go on over to her blog and pick your favourite flavour! :)

Bye for now!!

  3. Maybe if you got some kind of protein into that smoothie it would hold you over better? A bit of nut butter perhaps? That little extra bit of somethin somethin might just make it perfectly satisfying. A green smoothie is a great idea for a nighttime snacker though, I might have to give that a try.

    All Sam's Clubs are closing? Weird! I've never been to one though, I think the closest is 15 minutes away so I'm not really missing out anyway haha

  7. So you are on the green monster train too eh? Hmmm...perhaps if I pick up some more spinach or kale, I can test this bad boy out as well.

    So, are those peanut easter m&m's?
