Vacation Countdown

I meant to let you all in on this super giveaway last night but totally forgot! Must have been the mush brain from sitting on the couch all day. Any who, when you’re done here, please head over to Olivia’s place to check out a GREAT prize pack!

Here’s my breakfast! 100_5102

  • 1/2cup each water and USVAB

  • strawberries
  • cinnamon
  • dried banana
  • walnut pieces

What a great start to my day! After we all ate we went on out to the farm. My first stop was the barnyard to visit with Lacey for a bit. She’s been living up to her name in that she likes to pull on shoe laces now! I had a few Dutch windmill cookies with my coffee, but no pictures, sorry!

It was another cool day out there and I haven’t been feeling the greatest today (sore throat and the such) so a bowl of soup sounded really appealing to me for lunch. I had bought this at 50% off a little while back and decided it would be perfect to try today…

It wasn’t too bad. I was expecting a stronger flavour, though. I added a few cubes of feta and dipped the crust of DS’s grilled cheese in it. That kicked it up a notch! 100_5109

I spent some time tending to my vegetable garden and weeding the flower beds this afternoon. When I came back in I was surprised to see that it was almost 3pm! It didn’t feel like I had been out for over an hour. I made a hot chocolate and munched on the last Puff ‘N Stuff square with some cinnamon raisin PB on it for a snack.. 100_5111

Then I spent some time humiliating my cat, Charlie… 100_5100

How impressed does he look?

I had a great plate of Fiber Gourmet pasta for dinner with a terrific veggie sauce. In the sauce there was onion, grated carrot, yellow, red and orange bell pepper, 2 tbsp Sabra hummus, about a 1/4 cup of the bean soup leftover from lunch, 1/4 cup tomato sauce and various spices. 100_5112

This was SO good and filling! The fam’s sauce had the addition of lean ground beef and they had linguine noodles.

We went to visit my parents for a bit and I drank a hot tea there as well as eating a piece of rice crispy square and one chocolate chip cookie. For some reason cookies seemed to have escaped my camera today! :) My lunch is set to go for tomorrow so I’ll be spending the rest of the evening watching some TV and resting up so I feel better tomorrow. Only 4 work days left until 2 weeks vacation! Bring it on!

Bye for now!!

  4. Hi! I just stumbled across your blog... LOVE Charlie! He reminds me of my Cloudy (who passed away last year). He was a fluffy gray cat too.

Anyways, I run a vegetarian food blog that features what I eat and my new kitten, Peanut. :) I hope you check it out sometime.

    Take care,
    Marina

  7. That soup looks good, but I hate when the flavors aren't as strong as you expect them to be. But, at least you can always jazz it up a bit--ooo vacation sounds nice =)
