A Surprise Hockey Game!

I slept until a glorious 8am this morning! I had an amazingly relaxing evening last night! We played Wii Sport for a bit then the kids and I snuggled under a blanket and watched Gremlins while my hubby took the snowblower to the driveway for the third time! :) Once the kiddies were in bed, my hub and I watch Untraceable with Diane Lane. I really liked the movie! **A side note about Gremlins....I can not believe that movie is 24 years old! I'm aging myself by saying this, but I remember when it came out!! I was 10 and it was my favorite movie at that time! Hehe....some of you probably weren't even born when that came out. I know my sister didn't come along until the next year!

I need to use up my cranberry sauce pretty fast so I incorporated them into my breakfast again. Sorry for the repetitiveness!

-1 cup water
-1/3 cup oat bran
-cinnamon
-a good scoop of cranberry sauce
-maple flakes
Once breakfast was done, I tidied up the house some while waiting for my food to digest. Then I did about 15 mins of Wii yoga to stretch and hopped on the treadmill for a nicely paced 4.2 miles, which took me 45 mins, including a 2 min warm up walk and 3 min cool down walk. After a little more stretching, I hit the shower to get ready for the day.

There are 2 "charities" that I make donations to frequently through out the year - our local food bank and humane society (as well as the Ontario SPCA). The kids had a big food drive through the school that I cleaned out my cupboards for at the beginning of the month. As for the humane society, for the past 2 months, while grocery shopping, I've picked up cat & dog food and treats to donate for Christmas. Today, DD and I went to Wal Mart and picked out a nice size dog bowl and filled it with our stash. Here it is.

Our next stop was the Humane Society to drop it off and play with the animals. If I have my way, we will have a new little friend in our house by time holiday's are here! I ate this super juicy gala apple on the drive from point A to B...

Then I ate this little baby Toblerone bar. So good! :)

When we got back my hubby told me that DS's coach called and asked if we wanted to go to our city's OHL game this afternoon at 2pm....box seats, no less and for free! Hell ya! What a blast that was! As well as us, there were also 2 other families from the team there. I felt rich or something! :) What a treat! Here's DS acting all goofy.

He was pretty jazzed up that we had a waitress and free popcorn and a fully stocked fridge!! And here's DD and I playing around with the camera...

Before we left for the game, I made a Mighty Maple PB and banana sandwich. Love this combo, even if the mushy bananas gag me a bit!! :)

It was pert near 5pm by the time the game was done, so we stopped by our favorite Thai restaurant for dinner. I started with fresh shrimp rolls...

DD pilfered a piece before I got my camera out! Next up was Pho with chicken and vegetables. I added some spicy sauce and was good to go!

I feel like today was such a wonderfully productive day! I plan to spend the rest of it doing some serious blog reading as I have a lot to catch up on and then catching some TV before bed. Have a wonderful night, all!!

Bye for now!!

  6. Um, I can't believe it's 24 years old. Boy, I'm old. Digging the Thai food. I am a huge fan of Thai.

We support the same 3 charities (well, I do my local ones here). It always makes me feel so good about myself to donate time and money to worthy causes! I think it's amazing that you do :)

  7. Geeze, is that movie really 24 years old? That doesn't seem possible. I would have been 5 when it came out - I could have sworn I was older. Maybe my mom just didn't let me watch it til I was older. HA!

Thai food = spectacular. As does a hockey game in box seats.
